First, I want to celebrate you for making it to this point - you are pursuing therapy and this takes so much courage and bravery and deserves to be recognized. Props to you! As a therapist, I believe that our past informs our present in more ways than one. This is why you may respond to rejection, disappointment, or loss in ways that feel confusing or unmanageable. Maybe you push others away even though all you really want is to feel close. Perhaps you find it hard to see the beauty in yourself and so you shrug off compliments with a joke or find a way to change the subject. Maybe you’ve allowed that negative voice in your head to call the shots for so long that it’s taken a toll on your friendships, relationships or work. Perhaps you’re ready for a change, but have no idea where to start. This is where the work begins for us.
It’s my job to become a student of your inner world and to identify the experiences that have shaped you. As we explore together, I will lead with empathy, encouragement, and curiosity anchored in an integrative psychodynamic approach. Along the way, we will dismantle limiting thoughts that hold you back and get in your way. We will create room for you to experience healing and discover your true, authentic self. You’re not alone or too far gone, and it’s time for you to call the shots.
